Sally Cortez

Sally Sandoval Cortez passed away June 19, 2021, peacefully at her home in Caldwell, TX.

Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 A.M. Friday, June 25, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Melvin Dornak officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Strickland Funeral Home Caldwell with the Rosary beginning at 7 P.M.

Sally was born in Caldwell, TX on April 6, 1934. She was married to Fred Cortez November 25, 1949, in Cameron, TX. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Mary’s Woman’s Club, Alter Society, and church choir. Sally loved her church dearly and volunteered for church activities like baking carrot cakes for Auctions, babysitting for young people and ironing clothes.

Survived by Husband Fred Cortez Sr. of Caldwell, TX. Son Fred Jr. and Patricia Cortez of Houston, TX. Daughters Linda and James Davidson of Little Elm, TX, Debra, and Albert Faust of Deanville, TX, Sandra and Sam Cates of Pflugerville, TX. Brother Santos and Carmen Sandoval of San Antonio, TX. Sister Patsy and Marcelo Fino of Cameron, TX. Grandchildren Marcus, Amy, Laura Cortez; Reina Davidson, Shawn and Christy Faust, Branden and Kristine Faust, Kevin Faust, Addison Cates, Mary Cates, Samuel and Cheyanna Cates. Great-Grandchildren Alycen, Madalyn, Caitlyn, and Savanah Faust, Kallie CAtes, Skyanna, Wesley and Georgia Cates.

Preceded in death by parents Pedro Sandoval and Sara Sandoval Matamoros, Sisters Lucille Sanchez, Louise Amayo, Brother Andrew Sandoval Sr.
