Caldwell

Rose Mary (Mock) Abbaspour

Those that frequented the Caldwell library knew Rose as ‘the library lady’. She loved the patrons there as well as her family at the City of Caldwell. Earlier in life she was an accountant & Real Estate Broker but her occupation as an assistant librarian was what she was most proud of.  She was an avid reader who passed on her love of books to many in the Caldwell area.  Rosie loved people!  In spite of the many challenges life threw at her, there was always a smile on her face, a funny hat on her head or she was wearing some kind of kooky sunglasses. And there were always flamingoes!  She had them in every shape & size. Rose brought light, love, and joy everywhere she went and it can still be felt in the library. She helped so many overcome their struggles while trying to overcome so many of her own. Rose Mary was a very active member of The Lyon’s Club here in Burleson County and loved nothing more than all of the community outreach she got to be a part of as a Lyon and “Library Lady”.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Neena Johnson, her sisters Vivian Simonis and Cheryl Williams of Cathlamet, WA and her brother, Wesley Mock, and 8 Grandchildren from Eugene OR, & many nieces and nephews.  We will miss Rose terribly as many of you will.  Hold her in your heart and when you see a ‘funky’ flamingo, remember Rose and smile!

Rose Mary’s family would like to thank the City of Caldwell Employees, the Lyon’s Club of Burleson County, and the Caldwell Community as a whole for making my mother feel so loved and for embracing her in this community.

The family asks the community as a way to continue to honor Rose in her absence please remember to hug the librarians when visiting the Harrie P. Woodson Memorial Library as Rose did especially Mary Keen.  This would make my mother happier than I could express.

“I love you mama…more than the ski goes”
