Patricia Kutach

October 15, 1940 — March 11, 2023

Caldwell

Patricia Ann (Hajovsky) Kutach, 82, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at St. David’s Hospital North Austin. She was born the daughter of Adolph Hajovsky and Josephine (Kocurek) Hajovsky on October 15, 1940, in Caldwell, TX.

She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1959 as valedictorian where she participated in stage band playing saxophone. She also enjoyed painting as a hobby earlier in life.   She did all this after battling polio in her early teens.   She went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Biology where she excelled in her studies. She then studied and worked as a laboratory technician with Hermann hospital in Houston.   She met Alvin Kutach at Sam Houston State and they later married.  Many a story has been told by Alvin over the years of just how smart Patricia was.  The two settled back in Caldwell after college and had two daughters, Mary Belinda and Carol Ann.

Patricia was an accomplished pianist and organist throughout her life.    Patricia also enjoyed gardening, sewing, music, traveling, enjoying her favorite foods and most of all shopping for her favorite things. She played the organ at St. Mary Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for many years.  Patricia was also active in local organizations and in raising her two daughters.

After she and Alvin parted, she worked for several years in medical records at the Burleson county hospital (now St. Joseph’s) in Caldwell.    Later in life as her overall health declined, Patricia resided at The St. Joseph’s Manor in Caldwell and then at Park Valley Inn in Round Rock to be closer to Belinda and Carol. Both Belinda and Carol cared for Patricia, but Belinda played an especially significant role as caregiver for her mother over her last years.

Patricia is predeceased by both her parents, sister-in-law, Barbara (Harry) Hajovsky and son-in-law, Tim Williams.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Belinda Williams of Georgetown, TX and Carol Ann Brinson of Austin, TX and son-in-law, John Brinson; siblings, A.G. (Bud) Hajovsky of Cameron, TX and Agnes Wilde, husband, Jim, of Caldwell, TX;  her beloved four grandchildren, Josephine (Josie) Williams of Round Rock, TX, Harrison James Williams of Austin, TX, Kate Mackenzie Brinson of San Antonio, Texas and Jack Martin Brinson of Austin, TX as well as nieces and nephews, Jeff Wilde, Andrea Wilde, Stephen Hajovsky, wife Cindy, and Susan Angely, husband Matthew.
