Michael Stone

February 14, 1957 — November 4, 2020

Caldwell, Texas

Michael P Stone Sr., 63, a resident of Caldwell, Texas, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan on November 4, 2020.  He was born on February 14, 1957 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Ralph and Mildred Stone and had two brothers, Bobby and Tommy Stone, all of whom preceded Mike in death and lay at rest in Massachusetts.

Mike was a jack of all trades. Michael could help you with your car, do construction, was a black belt in karate, worked as an EMT and even drove a limousine.  Michael was also a huge Boston sports fan, especially the Patriots and was more than willing to let you know about it. To those closest to him, he was also a great chef and loved cooking.   He was a larger than life, happy guy who could put a smile on your face whenever you were feeling down or capable to make you feel safe with a comforting bear hug.   He was known to dress up as Santa from year to year and surprise members of his family and the local children during the Christmas holidays.  His life was not always sunshine and Unicorns, however, and he worked through many difficult times and in the process turned his life over to his Lord, Jesus, and that guided the rest of his life,

Mike came to Caldwell in 2006.  He worked at various jobs including construction and as the Director of Cross Roads Retreat, until being part of the team who started Impact Burleson County in 2012.  He was ordained as Recovery Pastor at Area 3:16 in 2015.  Since the founding of Impact, Mike worked tirelessly to help those in our county who have anything going on in their lives that kept them from realizing the life God intended for them.  He led the move of Impact to new quarters on Main St. in 2018 and its expansion in many new areas of service such as food supplies and clothing.  He also spearheaded establishing Recovery Meetings in the County Detention facility.  It’s rare to find someone in Caldwell who did not know Mike.  He loved people and loved working to make their lives better.  Mike’s calling was to humbly serve God and His people.  Through this service, God used Mike to change many lives and he leaves a lasting legacy for all who met and worked with him.  Mike had a rough side, but there was never any doubt that he followed Jesus in every part of his life,

Michael is survived by his three children Michael Jr, Sabrina, and Tanya and his two beautiful grandchildren Layla and Neven, all of whom he loved deeply. He is also survived by hundreds of people who lives were changed through knowing Mike.,

A Memorial service is planned and will be announced as soon as the date is established, His family has requested donations be made to Impact in lieu of flowers.
