Larry married the love of his life Mary L. Rodriguez August 6, 1962 in Mitchell County. To this Union were born: Lorenzo Jr., Jerry and Cindy.

Larry was a hard worker and very skilled Heavy Machine Operator for most of his life working all over Texas and most of the Southern States, He worked for and retired from the City of Brenham and then worked for Burleson County. He believed in hard work and when Larry Jr. and Jerry were older, he would hire them to show the value of hard work and life lessons. Larry was so very proud of Larry Jr’s service in the United States Air Force.

Larry’s family and his wife were his passion. He was a devoted husband for nearly 60 years. His family was so important that he even passed up a few job opportunities over seas to stay and watch events the grandkids were doing. He would love hunting all over Texas, fishing, playing dominoes and spending time at the Kelm Store, his second home. He spent many hours there visiting with friends, playing pool or just socializing with friends and family. He never met a stranger mostly because of his infectious smile which everyone loved seeing. He also enjoyed     Turkey Shoots, played softball and coached the Little League when the boys were young. He came from a musically inclined family, in which all of his siblings could play various instruments and sing. He would love to just visit and socialize on his tailgate or sitting in his yard with friends and family and may even enjoy a beer from time to time. He was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed BBQing so much he even took his pit up to West Texas to show them what they were missing with good BBQ. He also cooked with the Mantey’s occasionally. Larry and Mary enjoyed dancing tremendously and were well known for leading numerous wedding marches in the area.
