Juanita Landolt

Somerville

Juanita Alma Hueske, daughter of Waga (Mantey) Hueske and Rueben Hueske, was born October 29, 1925, in Gay Hill, Texas.  She passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Her Family lived in Washington County and then moved to Somerville.  Juanita graduated from Somerville High School in 1943.  She married John Bertell Landolt on October 30, 1943.  To their union was born eight children.

Their family home in Somerville was where the entrance to Lake Somerville’s Welch Park is currently located.  Bert and Juanita packed up their family and moved to Lyons in 1962.  Bert worked most of his life at Santa Fe Tie Treating plant in Somerville.  Juanita stayed home raising their children.  She was a great cook and expert seamstress.  She enjoyed gardening and canning and loved to fish.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert Landolt; brother, R.J. Hueske; sister, Stella Nienstedt; daughters, Glenda Carlomagno, Lorri Mapes, Stellene Hestand; grandson, Jeffery Mapes and great-great granddaughter, Kynleigh Marie Groce.

She leaves behind her daughters, Mary Murphy, Jo Smith, Janetta Britt and husband Kelly; sons, John Bertell Landolt, Jr. and wife Beatrice, Keith Landolt and wife Melody; son-in-law, Dante Carlomagno; grandchildren, Chrissy Howard, Didi Carlomagno, Angie Bates, Brayla Leighton, John Bertell Landolt, III, Justin Lewis, Jonna See, Kadi Webb, Edward Varner, Lindsey Curington, Bree Patranella, Brandie Suehs, Garrett Smith, Lauren Smith, Keith Landolt, Jr, Kevin Landolt, Mariah Sandner; neice Karla Nienstedt; nephews Kenny, Ronnie, Bobby Nienstedt; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great granddaughter, Ivey Lewis.

Pallbearers are Justin Lewis, Randy See, Keith Landolt, Jr., Kevin Landolt, Garrett Smith, Doug Curington, John Bertell Landolt III and Edward Varner.

Honorary pallbearers are Kutter Rohrbach and Kason Rohrbach.

Visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4pm - 8pm.  A Private family graveside services will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10am.
