Donna Fletcher

June 5, 1942 — October 8, 2021

College Station, TX

Donna Louise (Moore) Fletcher was born on June 5, 1942 in Houston, TX.  She went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2021 at 79 years of age surrounded by her family.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 11 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell from 6pm-8pm.  Service will be Tuesday, October 12 at Evangelical Church of Christ in Lyons at 2pm.

She and her family lived in Houston, TX where she attended school in the Aldine District and graduated from Aldine Sr. High. She married Gary Fletcher in 1961 and five children were born to this union.  Robert “Bobby” Fletcher, Terry Fletcher, Jerry Don Fletcher, Sherri Lander, and Mary Kimble.

In the late 1970s she moved to Somerville, TX and became a member of Lyon’s Evangelical Church where her three sons were confirmed.  She later moved to Keller, TX to be near family, but she rejoined the church in 2016 after moving back to College Station, TX.  She loved Sunday school and personal bible studies online.  Studying and interpreting the Bible brought her great comfort and molded her into the prayer warrior she was for so many.  Time with family and friends was her greatest joy.  Holidays and personal celebrations were always special and she was filled with love for all who attended.  Donna leaves with her family a great legacy of love.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Cleo (Utley) Slack. Sister, Elizabeth Ann Slack and beloved son, Jerry Don Fletcher.

She leaves behind her children and their spouses Bobby Fletcher (Victoria), Terry Fletcher (Cheryl), Sherri Lander (Jamie), Mary Kimble (Kevin) and daughter-in-law Amber Fletcher.  Grandchildren Sara McIver (Rusty), Mika Fletcher (Tiffany), Dallas Fletcher, Darden Fletcher, Brandon Fletcher (Jennifer), Sean Fletcher, Tonya Barnes (Charles), Dylan Brinkman (Hayley), Tyler Fletcher, C’era Dearing (Austin), Brianna Kimble, Kevin Kimble Jr. and Kelli Fletcher.  Step grandchildren Sonny Lander (Laura), Madeleine Bott (Luke) and David Lander.  Honorary grandchild Kelsi Belk.  Great grandchildren Clifton and Waylon McIver, James Fletcher, Rhyder Johnson, Landon and Logan Barnes, DJ and Brooklynn Brinkman, Braylin, Noah and Adaline Dearing, Kayleigh Fletcher, and Hunter and Tanner Locke.  Step great grandchildren Kashlyn and Bristol McIver, Eloisa Lander and Kate Bott.  Lifelong special friend Grace Knesek and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mika Fletcher, Brandon Fletcher, Sean Fletcher, Dylan Brinkman, Charles Barnes and Austin Dearing.

The family would like to recognize her caring doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Pastor Andrew Keuer for his loving support and spiritual guidance through this trying time.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Lyon’s Evangelical United Church of Christ in her memory.
