Billy Ray Roehling passed away on April 27,2021 in Houston at the age of 60 years old.
Services are set for 10 AM on April 30, 2021 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be April 29, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Strickland Funeral Home.
Billy was born on June 1, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Marvin “Monk” and Leona “Sis” (Mantey) Roehling. Billy was baptized and confirmed at the Advent Lutheran Church in Houston. He attended school at Jersey Village where he graduated in 1978.
Billy worked at NCI- Cornerstone Building Brands for 20 years where he served as production manager. Billy was very dedicated to his job and enjoyed working there When Billy was not at work, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he especially enjoyed going on hunting trips to Fredericksburg with family. In addition to hunting and fishing he enjoyed gardening where he was able to grow many things but he was very meticulous when it came to growing his dill.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gustav and Elvira “Ella” (Drews) Roehling, Steve and Lydia (Haarmeyer) Mantey; parents Marvin “Monk” and Leona “Sis” (Mantey) Roehling.
Billy is survived by brothers, Ronnie and Rebecca Roehling of Cypress, Marvin and Debbie Roehling of Brenham; nieces and nephews, Ryan Roehling, Brett and Maci Roehling, Russell Roehling, Rachel and Brian Adams, Jon and Michelle Hodde; Great nieces and nephews, Brenlee Roehling, Conway and Leona Adams, and Elliott Hodde.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Roehling, Brett Roehling, Russell Roehling, Brian Adams, Jon Hodde and Donald “Bubba” Mantey.
