A Funeral Mass for Alton Edward Ofczarzak Sr., 87, of Somerville, TX is set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, TX.  Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell. A visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home Caldwell, TX from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday February 21, 2021, with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m., Sunday February 21, 2021.  Alton Ofczarzak passed away February 17, 2021 at his home in Somerville, TX.  Alton (aka “Uncle Baby”, aka “Pops”) was born January 20, 1934 to Vince Paul Ofczarzak and Julia Theresa (Popek) Ofczarzak at home in Birch, TX.  At the age of 20, he married the love of his life Janette Lee Merritt on November 13, 1954, in Ellisville, MS.  He was a devoted husband and companion for 56 years, and had nine children with Janette.  Alton attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, TX.  He was a gifted carpenter, craftsman and homebuilder by trade.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  His passions included hunting and fishing, especially at the coast and Lake Somerville, and playing cards and slots at the casino.  Some of his favorite times were playing cards and dominoes with his family. He also loved buying scratch off and lotto tickets.  Alton is survived by his children, Eva Muenzler; Alton E. Ofczarzak II; Mark Ofczarzak & wife Janice; Lisa Williams & husband Paul;  Vincent Ofczarzak; Craig Ofczarzak; Angela Barnett; Carl Ofczarzak; sister, Magdalene Margaret (Jean) Matelski; sister-in-law Vlasta (Beran) Ofczarzak; twenty-one grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews and his dog Pooch, companion and best friend.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Janette Lee (Merritt) Ofczarzak; son, Bart Ofczarzak; son-in-law, Donald Muenzler and daughter-in-law, Theresa Jo Ofczarzak; and Alton siblings; Bernard Ofczarzak and wife Marcella; Esther Ofczarzak Keese and husband Alton; and Julia Ofczarzak Houston and husband Aubrey;  Helen Ofczarzak Poehl/Drachenberg and husband Theadfield Poehl and husband Dayton Drachenberg; Daniel Ofczarzak and wife Doris; Jimmie Ofczarzak and wife Mary; brother in law Theodore Marek and brother in law Pete Matelski; Ernest Ofczarzak, Lourine Ofczarzak Seidler and husband James.

Pallbearers’; Chris Ofczarzak, Eric Muenzler, Colton Muenzler, Chad Barnett, Mitchell Orozco, Adam Ofczarzak, Terry Matelski, Robert Grugan.
