Albert Bennett Sr.

Albert Lovis Bennett Sr., 86 of Alba, TX, passed away on January 26, 2023. Visitation for Albert will be held from 4-6pm, at Strickland Funeral home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Funeral service will be at 11am, Monday, January 30, 2023, with Brother Rick Mitchell officiating, at Strickland Funeral home. Burial following the service at Chriesman Cemetery.

Albert was born in Dallas, Texas on December 23, 1936, to Charlie Bennett and Opal Viola Hudgens. He married Aline Narmour, in Durant, Oklahoma on February 2, 1970.

Al enjoyed telling big stories and funny jokes to make everybody laugh. He has trained a family full of great story tellers. But most of all, Al loved his family.  Family could not be around him without him taking multiple hugs and giving love. He is a retired military veteran. Al enlisted in the Army in 1955 and retired from the reserves in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his wife Aline Bennett; his parents, Charlie and Opal Bennett; his brothers, Henry Bennett and Charles Bennett; his son Kenny Moore, his daughter Debbie Manor, one grandson and one great grandson.

Survivors include his children, Albert Bennett Jr. and wife Joan of Alba; Jimmie Lou Smith and husband Roger of Forney; Patricia Brown and husband Dale of Caldwell; Dennis Moore and wife Dee of Emhouse, James Moore and wife Joellen of Mississippi and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren totaling 80.

Serving as Pallbearers: Nathan Schultz, Collin Gammage, Carson Gammage, Gage Bennett, Landon Bennett, Brady Frazier.

Honorary Pallbearers: Albert Bennett III, Jason Bennett, Roger Smith Jr, Phillip Moore, and Wayne Campise.
