William Swabado

William Ray Swabado, 79 of Houston passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 with his family by his side. Services are planned for Saturday, January 21, 2023 @ Noon at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville, Texas, the burial will follow the services. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #4458. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00pm also at the funeral home.

William was an avid reader, world traveler, his last big adventure took him to India. One of his favorite places to visit was his hometown of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio. When he wasn’t traveling the world, he like to watch his favorite college football teams “LSU” and “Ohio State.” William also loved to go polka dancing, exercise and be on the family farm.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Julius & Nellie Banyas and William Frank Swabado and Virginia Caroline Pitner; son-in-law, Mark Becton; mother & father-in-law, Marie & Milton Lewis and sister-in-law, Karey Swabado, and a brother Jack Wayne Banyas

William leaves behind to cherish his memory wife, Betty Swabado; daughters, Pamela Elliott and husband Jon, Tanya Schneider and husband Brian, Natasha Becton; brother, Danny Swabado; sister, Carol Ann Wynn and husband David; half -sister, Debbie Black, grandchildren, Holden Jenkins, Justin Brock, Paige Elliott, Tayton Schneider, Aven Schneider, Maya Becton, Preston Becton, Garrett Becton along with a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Holden Jenkins, Justin Brock, Tayton Schneider, Aven Schneider, Patrick Loper and David Wynn.
