Vlasta Theresa (Beran) Ofczarzak Obituary
Vlasta T. (Beran) Ofczarzak, 92, was born in Deanville, Burleson County, Texas on March 19, 1933 to Joe and Elizabeth (Pivonka) Beran and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at home surrounded by her children.
Vlasta was a lady of many talents, mostly self-taught, from making bread, kolaches, canning, sewing, piecing quilts/quilting and growing flowers, which she loved. She was actively hand-quilting until her final days. She loved watching sports and attended many of her children, grandchildren and even a few great-grandsons games.
She was a homemaker most of her life but did work outside of the home for many years at Nagel Hanger Factory and painted houses with her sister-in-law, Janette Ofczarzak, which were built by her husband Ernest and brother-in-law, Alton Ofczarzak.
Vlasta will be remembered for her strong faith and lifelong love for the Roman Catholic Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She dedicated praying rosaries throughout the day for her family, friends, and various needs.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Altar Society and the KJT Society for years.
She met her husband, Ernest Lee Ofczarzak at Deanville Hall at a dance. The two of them enjoyed many years of dancing, especially at Frenstat hall. They married on June 25, 1955 and in this union they raised five loving children, in which they instilled family values which reflect in their legacy of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even though they are gone, the Ofczarzak family they created lives on.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 46 years; sisters Mary DeMarco (Gus), Bettie Marek (Robert), Annie Beran, Liddie Charanza (Anton); Josephine Felcman (Frank); Hattie Provazek (Joe); Alfons Beran (Frances), Joseph Beran (Bernadette), Ernest Beran (Georgia) and brother-in-law James Vavra, with one surviving sister Janie Vavra.
Vlasta is also survived by her children Ernest David (Kerri), Joseph Fred (Bridget), Patricia Elizabeth Kelm (Kelly) Julie Ann Eubanks (Charlie) and Michael James (Mendi).
