Terry J. Suehs

September 2, 1959 — August 30, 2025

Caldwell

Terry Jourdain Suehs was born on September 2, 1959, in Houston, Texas, to J.D. and Audrey Joy (Lehde) Suehs. He passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, after a courageous and prolonged battle with illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

His early years were filled with adventure – hunting, fishing, and competing in rodeos. Alongside his siblings, Duane and Connie, he was raised with a deep respect for hard work and perseverance, values instilled in him by his father and carried with him throughout his life. In the rodeo arena, Terry was a fierce and passionate competitor, earning him many trophies, buckles, and saddles.

After graduating from Sam Houston High School, Terry entered Blinn College and subsequently transferred to Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Agricultural Education in 1982. During his time at Texas A&M, his fondest memories included watching Aggie football and practicing with the rugby team, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of the game.

It was during his final year at Texas A&M that Terry met the love of his life, Lori Faust. They were married on December 4th, 1982, and together built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Terry was a devoted husband and father to their two sons, Brandon and Travis. He valued his family above all else and took immense pride in teaching his sons the joys of the outdoors and the spirit of being a diehard Aggie.

Professionally, Terry dedicated 38 years to insurance sales in Burleson County, where he served his community with compassion and integrity. He found deep fulfillment in helping others, always going the extra mile to ease the burdens of those around him. Terry had a rare and beautiful gift for connection; he never met a stranger he couldn’t turn into a friend, and many of his customers and colleagues became lifelong, cherished companions.

His warmth and generosity extended into his personal passions, especially photography. Terry preferred to be behind the lens, capturing the special moments of others with care and artistry. His photos were more than images; they were reflections of the love and joy he saw in the world.

Terry was preceded in death by his father and mother, J.D. and Audrey Suehs, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn A. and B. Faye (Fletcher) Faust, his grandparents, Albert and Edwina (Spacek) Lehde, Willie Suehs, and Monroe and Wilhelmina (Tietjen) Terry.

Terry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lori (Faust) Suehs, his sons, Brandon and wife Amanda Suehs, and Travis Suehs, and grandsons, Barrett and Bodie Suehs. His sister, Connie Suehs, brother, Duane, and wife Terri Jo Suehs, sister-in-law, Glenda, and husband Bubba Smith, brother-in-law, Mark Faust. His nieces, Morgan Smith, and Miranda and husband Aaron Owen, nephews, Seth and wife Meagan Suehs, and Blaine and wife Kodi Suehs, as well as numerous grandnieces, and cousins.

His visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd from 6:00-8:00pm at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas followed by his graveside funeral on Wednesday, September 3rd at 10:00am at New Tabor Brethren Church. A light meal will follow at New Tabor Brethren Fellowship Building.
