Roy Hickman

Graveside Services for Roy Gail Hickman, 71, of Somerville, formerly Lake Jackson are set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. before the service also at the cemetery.

Roy was born November 21, 1948 to Elmer and Bessie Marie (Roller) Hickman in Alvin, Texas.

Roy loved boating, hunting, fishing, surfing, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was a Master Carpenter, loving Father, loyal friend. He graduated from Alvin High School and was baptized as a young man. However, he really began a relationship with Jesus in his declining years through the presentation of the Gospel by a Baptist witness. As his Family, we believe that Roy would want you to know: Plead the blood of Jesus and as you pass through the valley of death, lift up your heart to God. He will guard and keep you for he is near to guide you home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Hickman, and a brother, Vernon Hickman.

Roy is survived by his mother, Bessie Marie Hickman of Sequin, Texas; daughters, Deana Kay Hickman of Spring, Texas, Kendra Gail Hickman of Somerville, Texas, Samantha Gail Hickman of Crawfordville, Florida; brothers, James Hickman of Sequin, Texas, Clifford Hickman; grandchildren, Alexis Gail Hickman, Braden Hickman, and Brodie Hickman.

Pallbearers will be David Faust, Jimmy Charanza, Lindsey Speed and Dennis Thorn. Bobby Spivey and Jason Price will act as Honorary pallbearers.
