Roxie Frances Whatley was born September 16, 1927 in Gatesville, Texas to parents Hugh Ross Carothers & Sarah Frances (Dorsey) Carothers. She was the oldest of five siblings.

Her hobbies included cooking, crossword puzzles and watching movies. She also enjoyed spending time with her family in Gatesville.

Mrs. Whatley is preceded in death by her Parents, a daughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a great grandson.

Roxie is survived by her loving family, 2-sons; Bill Whatley & wife Gail of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Boone Whatley of Houston, Texas, 2 daughters; Wanda Poehl & husband Thomas of Houston, Texas, Wilma Dickerson & husband James of Houston, also surviving are 9 grandsons and 12 great grandchildren.
