Ronald Lee Elliott

Ronald (Ron) L. Elliott, aged 79, of Port O’Connor, Texas, beloved husband of Shirley K. Elliott, peacefully entered his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on September 12, 2025. Ron was born February 1, 1946 in Houston, Texas to John Henry and Annie Josephine Elliott. Ron grew up in Houston and graduated from South Houston High School in 1964. He attended Oklahoma A&M College for two years. Ron married Shirley, the love of his life and best friend, on February 5, 1977.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; two sons, Steven and Brian Elliott; granddaughter Sarah Elliott; great-granddaughter, Evangeline; sister-in-law Jean Pokorney; mother-in-law Doris Balcar; nephews Reagan and Trevor Pokorney; Trevor’s wife, Suzanne, and their children Jake and Rachel Pokorney; and many beloved cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Frank Balcar, and brother-in-law Milbert Pokorney.

Ron worked as a Materials Manager at manufacturing and fabrication shops in Houston. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He and Shirley participated in bass tournaments, and were state champions. With his life-long friends, Ron hunted in many locations. Most recently, he enjoyed hunting at a friend’s ranch in Rocksprings, Texas. He also enjoyed family gatherings which were filled with games, fun, and laughter.

Upon retirement in 2006, Ron and Shirley moved to Port O’Connor, Texas where he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and sharing time with friends and family. He started each morning going to the local coffee shop, where he met with his close circle of friends, sharing stories and laughter.

Ron was a devoted husband to Shirley and a loyal friend to many. He touched countless lives, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box, Texas on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
