Robert John Ryan, 70, of San Antonio, TX, died on August 23, 2020.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville with Pastor Darrin Holub officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Ryan was born on August 30, 1949 in New York City, NY to Robert and Winnifred Bowman Ryan. He married his wife, Gail Klages, on September 19, 1970. He was employed as a truckdriver. He loved to rebuild model cars, was an avid train collector, and loved to travel and see the country.
Mr. Ryan is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley Ryan and wife Laura of San Antonio, TX, and Matthew Ryan and wife Deena of Bastrop, TX; grandchildren, Jacob Ryan, Genevieve Ryan, and Justin Andrews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Klages Ryan on January 4, 2018, parents, Robert and Winnifred Ryan; and his beloved dog, Bosco.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wes Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Julian Valdez, Juan Espericueta, and William Bradford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Duane Scribner, George Prado, Roy Prado, Josiah Valdez and Fred Vasquez.
