Richard “Dick” Lavigne

August 28, 1935 – April 13, 2017

Richard Lavigne, 81, of Somerville went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Visitation is set for Friday, April 21, 2017 at Strickland Funeral home in Somerville, Texas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service is set for Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville, TX.

Richard was born August 28, 1935 to Damase & Beatrice Lavigne in Worcester, MA.

He joined the U.S. Air force in 1954 and served during both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It wasn’t until 1980 that he decided that after 25 faithful years of service, it was time for him to retire. Dick went on to enjoy some of the finer things in life such as farming, fishing, playing dominoes, and just being outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Juanita (Watkins) Lavigne, and son-in-law, Terry Hamilton.

Survivors include daughter, Toi Dawn McAdoo of Somerville, brothers &sisters-in-law, Walter & Delores Lavigne of Montana, Rene & Carole Lavigne of Maryland, Danny & Diane Lavigne of Orlando, FL, sister, Lucille & George Radulski of Orlando, sisters & brothers-in-law, Mikki & Ben Terkanian of Orlando, Claudia & Jim Morris of Orlando, grandchildren, Stephen & Tiffny Mikeska of Somerville, Amber & Cory Davis of Ingleside, great grandchildren, Ethan Mikeska, Justin Mikeska, Paloma Ramos, Kayleigh, Allison, Megan, and K’Lynn Davis.

Pallbearers are Cory Davis, Justin Mikeska, Ethan Mikeska, Stephen Mikeska, Gabriel Torres, and Shaun Harnar.
