Ray Ann Alford, age 89, of Caldwell, passed away February 16, 2026, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Ray Ann was born on October 18, 1936, to Murray Frank Broaddus and Miriam Ray James Broaddus. She graduated from Caldwell High School as salutatorian of her class. She was baptized at the age of 10 and lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan F. Alford; her parents; and her brothers, Jimmy Broaddus (Dorothy) and Billy Broaddus (Claire Lynn).
Ray Ann is survived by her four children, Terri Sue Roeseler (Peter), Carolyn Danise Johnson (George), Robert Murray Alford (Loretta), and Dan Bradley Alford (Bridgette); nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her special niece, Sandy Broaddus Malone; and special nephews, Bill Broaddus and Jim Broaddus. First Baptist Church was her spiritual home throughout her years. She loved the Lord deeply and always desired to serve Him faithfully.
She played the piano most of her life, served as pianist at First Baptist Church, taught music at First Baptist School, accompanied UIL students for competitions, helped children learn the chimes, and traveled throughout the community during the Christmas season to share music and joy. Ray Ann enjoyed reading, sewing, cross-stitching and playing bridge. She cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often working on puzzles together after spending afternoons by the pool. She was always ready to support her family, showing up for both big and small moments.
Ray Ann Alford will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Heidi, Ms. Dorothy, Ms. Tina, Maurietta, Dominique and Raveen, for the compassion, patience, and loving care they showed Ray Ann. Your kindness brought comfort and dignity to her days and will never be forgotten. The family also sincerely thanks the staff of Enhabit Hospice for their guidance, support, and gentle care during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Enhabit Hospice or First Baptist Church School.
