Patsy Brantley

Patsy Brantley, 89, of Somerville passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Patsy Brantley was born November 14, 1930 to Joe and Vertie Rogers in Temple. She Graduated from Somerville High School in 1947 and attended Blinn College, where she received her associates in business. Patsy married Ben Gipson in June of 1951 and enjoyed a good life with him until March of 1994. She then married her high school sweetheart Babe Allen Brantley in March of 1996.

Patsy worked at the DPS office as a clerk for over twenty-five years in Longview and was the office manager for Tastee Bread for 8 years. She was patient, steadfast, pleasant and a very good listener. Patsy was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and would often show that love in many great meals over the years.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Joe Rogers and Vertie (Tutt) Rogers; husbands, Ben Gipson, Babe Allen Brantley; grandson, Tony Cangemi and sister, Joanna Hudson.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Gipson; daughters, Joanna Cangemi and husband Jerry, Diana Gray and husband Randy; grandchildren, Melody Shaddix and husband Jeff, Meridith Gray, Cody Gipson and wife Anna, Chase Gipson and wife Elise, Scott Cangemi and wife Hannah; great-grandchildren, Rylea Shaddix, Grayson Shaddix, Amelia Gipson, Harvey Gipson, Nora Gipson, Isla Gipson along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Jerry Cangemi, Randy Gray, Cody Gipson and Chase Gipson.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or First Baptist Church of Somerville.
