Patsy Jean Albright

March 7, 1947 — May 28, 2025

Bryan, TX

Patsy Jean Albright, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center in Bryan, Texas.

Patsy was born March 7, 1947, to Emil and Olga (Drgac) Urbanovsky and shared by Wilton and Bessie Chaloupka and Rudolph and Ella Luksa. The three couples jointly operated the Cooks Point Store when the building was in its original state, made out of petrified wood. The three ladies were sisters. Emil Urbanovsky hauled the petrified rock that made up the store and the two rock houses to the left of the store.

Patsy attended schools in Burleson County, grades one through eight at the Cooks Point School and completed high school in Caldwell in 1965. She married Billy Albright on August 7, 1965, and began working at Texas A&M the day she graduated from high school. Her job continued in the same department for 51.5 years full-time and 3.5 years part-time. She was hired as a clerk-typist in University Information, working her way through the ranks in what is now Marketing and Communications. She retired in 2017, suffered a mild foot injury, and started back in the same division two days a week in September 2017.

She had two children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She always said the light of her life were her grandchildren. Both children and grandchildren lived in Bryan and College Station and activities with the grandchildren were greatly enjoyed by Billy and Patsy.

God was very important in her life. She was faithful to the Cooks Point Brethren church where she played the organ for more than 50 years. People knew her for her loving heart, generosity, selfless service, and double chocolate chip cakes! Anyone she met could tell you a Patsy Albright story! She could have just met you and would go out of her way to make you smile. She was a homemaker and loved hosting family and friends in her home. Her priorities in life were faith, family, and Aggie football. She was strong, loved her people with all her heart, and was constantly giving without expecting anything in return or taking any credit. She became friends with about everyone she came in contact with. Growing up in church, those friendships played a huge part in who she was today. She passed on her heart of gold to all who knew and loved her and passed on her independence and hard-working nature to her children, grandchildren, and those closest to her. She was a kind, dedicated and amazing mother who would do absolutely anything for the ones she loved the most. She always taught her family to do the right thing. She loved attending countless events and activities of her grandchildren. She showed her love for people through the way she lived and was the glue that kept her family together. She cherished spending time with family and loved cooking for them. She was excited by life and will be dearly missed. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Billy Albright; children, Melanie Albright Nelson and husband Karl Nelson, Bradley Albright and wife Kelly Wright Albright; grandchildren, Lauren Nelson, Casey Albright Edwards and husband Aaron Edwards, Mandy Nelson, Rachel Nelson and fiancé Andrew Gage, Dillon Albright, and Maggie Albright and fiancé Creed Pierce; great grandchildren, Elise Edwards, Austyn Edwards, and Liam Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil Urbanovsky and Olga Drgac.

Pallbearers are Dillon Albright, Creed Pierce, Andrew Gage, Eric Wills, Justin Albright, and Burtis Morse.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cooks Point Brethren Church.
