Ollie Jakubik

July 20, 1916 — March 27, 2017

Ollie was born July 20, 1916 to John Shenkir and Emilie (Lesikar) Shenkir in Seaton, Texas. She married Ernest R. Jakubik on November 24, 1938 in Temple, Texas.

Ollie was member of the Snook Brethren Church and the church choir for many years, she was also a member of the Snook Brethren Christian
Sisters, Snook SPJST Lodge #9, she started Lodge 9 Youth Club in the mid-60’s, and received the SPJST Lifetime Achiever Award in 2003. She loved working in her yard and with her beautiful flowers, for which she was awarded “Yard of the Month” several times by Snook EEA Club. Ollie was the Burleson County Outstanding Senior Citizen of 1997 and retired from Snook ISD after 25 years working in the school “Candy Store”.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Carlson Jakubik of New Braunfels, Texas, Lyndon and Maude Linda Jakubik of Snook, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Jim Muzny of Deanville, Texas, Bernice and Tom Junek of Snook, Texas; grandchildren, George Jakubik, Patrick Jakubik, Jeffrey and Kristin Jakubik, Mark and Sherri Jakubik, Donald and Jennifer Jakubik, Matthew and Laura Jakubik, John and Kathy Muzny, Hollie and Shawn Jennings, Jason and Jessica Muzny, Kristine and Russell Brisco, Kevin and Ericka Junek; great grandchildren, Robin and Cody Poncik, Jenna Jakubik, Dustin Jakubik, Haley and Louis Martinez, Jami Jakubik, Luke Jakubik, LeAnn Jennings, Emily Jennings, Madyson Muzny, Weston Muzny, JW Muzny, Jaxson Brisco, Jaycie Brisco, Kohl Junek, Kade Junek, Jensen Weaver, Kallen Weaver, Amanda and Preston Szymanski, Michelle Prince, Hayden Duplechain; great, great grandchildren, Tristain Schulz and Kyle Patterson. Also surviving her is her special friend Meredith Rubach.

Ollie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest Jakubik; brothers, Edwin, Rudolph, Adolph, Jessie and John Shenkir; sister Martha Armintrout; daughter-in-law, Judy Jakubik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Active pallbearers will be the grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Snook Brethren Church, Snook Brethren Christian Sisters, Snook SPJST Youth Club, Encompass Hospice or any charity of your choice.
