Minnie Witte

Minnie Witte, 95, of Somerville went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 9. Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Services will be Saturday, January 14, 2 pm at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons, with interment to follow at Evangelical United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Minnie loved to garden and enjoyed the wild flowers. She also loved her dogs very much. Minnie worshiped at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons, where she loved to sing hymns such as, Shall we gather at the river and Sweet By and By. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, August Witte, Alma Poehls Witte, brothers, Aldoph Witte, Wenzel Witte, sisters, Elma Schultz and Selma Witte.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved pet, Queenie and special ladies who helped her with daily needs when she became unable to do everything herself including Elsie Bates, Betty Jane Claus and Linda Novosad.

Pallbearers are Jerry Novosad, Rodney Giesenschlag, Henry Poehl, Jimmy Bates and John Moore.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ernest Ray Bentke, Donnie Blinka and Donnie Flisowski.

Memorials may be made to The Evangelical United Church of Christ or a charity of your choice.
