Graveside services for Michael R. Thaman, 68, of Caldwell are set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Giesenschlag Cemetery, with Pastor Rudy Junek officiating. The family will be present for visitation from 2 until 5 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Mr. Thaman passed away at his home in Caldwell on August 31, 2018.
Mike was born January 12, 1950 to William Robert Thaman and Emma (Jewel Bray) Thaman in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa. On June 24, 1983 he married Lynda Nell Dale.
Mike was a Master Plumber for more than 25 years and worked at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, Texas for 15 years before his retirement in August of 2017. He loved his work and his many co-workers. He was a craftsman and an innovator and was a teacher of life lessons. He was a man that commanded respect from all who came in contact with him.
He had a passion for playing the guitar and enjoyed playing and singing country and gospel music. He also enjoyed the great outdoors through his love of fishing, camping and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lynda Thaman; and sister, Sandra Gail Szczesniak and her husband Robet Joseph Szczesniak.
Mike is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Troy Lee Thaman, John Foster Thaman, Michael Thaman, Mark & Nancy Hetman; sister and brother-in-law, Connie & Jeff Beard; grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Lance and Tanner Thaman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
