Mary loved her family dearly, she would say “her family was worth more than gold to her.” She was known to make chicken noodle soup for Christmas, and her chicken salad sandwiches quite often. Mary and Richard did everything together; she would even follow behind him, on the combine, in the trail car to Temple. They would also travel all over the state to attend the soil conservation conventions. She was a hard worker and worked until she went to the retirement home.

Mary was very involved in her community and had memerships in The Mutual Aids Society, the SPJST, for over 75 years, Soil Conservation and was President of the Christian Sisters Organization.
