Mary Jenkins

Mary Opal (Blair) Jenkins, 93 of Caldwell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Mary was born March 4, 1923 in Monroe County, Mississippi to parents John Blair and Maggie (Gunter) Blair. She was a homemaker for her family. She married Edgar Jenkins April 17, 1943 in Mississippi.

Mary enjoyed quilting, bird watching, fishing and working in her flower beds, she loved her flowers. She welcomed all to her home where she loved to entertain. She preferred her house full of family and love.

Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Edgar Jenkins, son, Bill Jenkins, 5 brothers; Greelie, John, James, Cully, and Raymond Blair and her sister, Ruby Blaylock.

Mary is survived by her loving family, 2 sons, Bob Jenkins of Caldwell, TX., and Jim and Linda Jenkins of Somerville, TX., 4 daughters, Joyce and Doyle Oliver of Rome, Georgia, Fran and Jim Dawson of Caldwell, TX., Shirley and Larry Damitz of Molina,Ill., and Darlene and Steve Glass of Oklahoma City, OK., also 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Tom Dawson, Jim Jenkins, Bob Jenkins, Eric Dawson, David Johnson, and Stanley Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Dawson and Michael Burke.
