Mary Jane Hoover, age 78, of Somerville, Texas, passed peacefully on August 11, 2026, in her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 29, 1948 in Madison Mills, Ohio to Leroy and Medrith Kuhn.

She was married to Russell Hoover in February of 1972.

Mary will be remembered for her quiet strength, homemade cooking, love for shopping and watching old westerns. She dedicated her life to raising her children, grandchildren and creating a welcoming home to all. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. As her granddaughter would say, " memaw is as tough as stale cornbread".

She was preceded in death br her husband, Russell Hoover; parents Leroy and Medrith Kuhn; sister Barbara McKinney; son in law, Estel Conger and nephew Charles Kuhn.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: daughter Dedrah Conger and Bruce; son Tim Hoover and wife Amanda; daughter Penny Lenamon and husband Scotty; daughter Beth Hoover Lynn and husband Justin; daughter Laura Ball and husband Charles; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Donald Kuhn and Robert Kuhn; nieces, Debbie Haynes and Dawn Ellenberger.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 5 -7 p.m. Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 10:00am at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, Texas.

Her family is grateful for the kindness and support during this time.
