Mary Griffin

Mary Lue Griffin, 90, of Granbury passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

Visitation will be 9am – 6pm, Saturday, May 9 at Strickland Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be Sunday, May 10, 10am at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.

Mary Griffin was born on April 19, 1930 to Edward Wycoff and Mary Dukes in Liberty, Texas. She married the love of her life, Harold Griffin on December 19, 1964.

Mary was a homemaker who devoted her life to raising her children and made sure they knew right from wrong. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and talking to friends and family on the phone. Mary was known for telling people the right way of doing things, though she always told them with love. She was a beautiful soul that left a mark on every person she met; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Griffin; daughter, Cindy Bracewell; great-grandchild, Madison Connell; sister-in-law, Rosemary Snell. Mary is also preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary R. Dellar Johnson, who’s prayers brought this entire family into the Kingdom of God.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Smith and wife Donna, Clayton Griffin and wife Crissey; daughter, Sharon McKinney; brother, Bennie Snell; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frances Griffin, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Robert Smith, Clayton Griffin, Bennie Snell, Dennis Griffin, Devon Land, Matthew McKinney, Josh Lane and Dominick Connell.

Honorary pallbearer is Presley Smith.

Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Somerville.
