Mrs. Mable Caddell, age 81, of Caldwell, Texas went to be with our Lord on February 27, 2026, at Scott and White Hospital in College Station, Texas.
She was born on October 9, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jessie Stephen and Esther Lee Arnold. After completing some high school, she went on to marry 3 times which produced 5 children before meeting and marrying her late husband Lewis Caddell in Caldwell, Texas in 1981. They were married 36 years before he passed in 2017.
She was a homemaker most of her life while also working outside the home as a waitress, she was also a cashier at J&H grocery in Caldwell where she retired from.
She will be remembered for her strong faith and love for our Lord and savior. She was devout to Calvary Baptist for many years. She loved all her family very deeply and enjoyed making holiday meals with her many sisters. No matter where she was, all the family always gathered at her home for the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Stephen and Esther Lee Arnold, her 3 brothers; Hugh A. Arnold, Grady H. Arnold and Robert C. Arnold, 4 sisters; Esther Darline Crabtree, Barbara Lee Breckles, Lillian Glenn and Sallie Jeanette Bryant, her husband Lewis Caddell, her son Huey Eugene Vowell, her daughter Tammy Michelle Vowell, a step-son Robin Lee Caddell, her two grandsons Robin Eugene Caddell and Steven Storey.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Patricia Ashbrook, Angela Vowell and Stefani Wells (Wesley), 3 Step-sons, Lewis Caddell Jr., Richard Caddell, Robert Caddell, 1 step-daughter, Sheila Caddell, 10 grandchildren, Angela Mustapha, Ryan Mustapha (Esereal), Sara Thines (Ben), Amber Maberry, Samual Cody Rittman, Christofer Vowell (Kristen), Kayla Carter, Crystal Wood, Ernie Philips lll, Josh Caddell, 15 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews that she loved as much as her own children.
A visitation service for Mable will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 5pm-8pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2pm. All services will be located at Strickland funeral home in Caldwell, Texas. Burial will follow the funeral service at Chrisman cemetery.
