Lucy Jimenez

Lucy Mendoza Jimenez, 79, of Somerville went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 11, 2016. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13 from 6pm - 8pm, with a rosary recited at 7 pm, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church Thursday, July 14 at 10 am with interment following at The Mexican Cemetery in Somerville.

Lucy Mendoza was born on March 4, 1937 to Pablo Mendoza and Tillie Ochoa Mendoza in Somerville, Texas. She married the love of her life, David, on July 27, 1963 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Somerville. Lucy was a member of St. Ann's Alter Society and the Roadrunners Quilt Club. Her hobbies included sewing, word puzzles, crochet, reading books and watching football. Her favorite teams included Texas A&M, Notre Dame and the Dallas Cowboys. Lucy was a very kind and loving person. Her absence will be greatly felt by the family and community she loved so much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo Mendoza and Tillie Ochoa and brother, Mike Mendoza.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband David Jimenez, son, David Paul Jimenez, daughter, Judith Ann Jimenez and sister-in-law, Frances Mendoza.

Pallbearers are Tommy Arrendondo, Ronnie Ochoa, Joe Ochoa, Eric Ochoa, Jason Jimenez, James Mras, Steven Mras and Edward Cruz.

Memorials can be directed to St. Jude Shrine.
