Lloyd Lane, Jr.

A graveside service for Lloyd William Lane, Jr., 72, of Somerville are set for 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2020 at Houston National Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 6 – 8pm at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Mr. Lane passed away February 26, 2020 at his home in Somerville.

Lloyd was born March 3, 1947 to Lloyd William Lane, Sr. and Virgie Hawkins in Petersburg, Virginia.

Lloyd loved life and was a very outgoing person. He enjoyed people and never met a stranger, just a friend he needed to be introduced to. He would help anyone in need. Lloyd was a hard worker, he could fix anything and made sure his yard was picture worthy. When he found some down time, he liked to spend it watching westerns.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sarah Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lane; sons, Eric Lane and wife Christina of Tabor, Christopher Gibson and wife Donna of Somerville; daughters, Mary Johnson of Brenham, Heather Tice and husband Christopher of Brenham; sister, Betty Adams and husband James of Virginia; grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Lona Johnson, Christopher Tice, Kayla Tice, Chelsea Lane, William Lane and Kaylee Elizabeth Gibson.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Somerville.
