Lillian Mary Pivonka, 94, of Caldwell, passed away in Georgetown, Texas, Thursday, October 12, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 at St. Mary's Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Melvin Dornak as officiant. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation and family gathering will be held Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. by Father Melvin Dornak at Strickland Funeral home in Caldwell.

Lela was born June 2, 1929, in Caldwell, Texas to parents Robert Pivonka & Rosalie (Beran) Pivonka. She was one of thirteen children. She learned from an early age the value of hard work from her parents whether it was farming or ranching on their homeplace. Lela was generous, funny and enjoyed spending time with family.  She attended Business College to become a secretary which she did most of her life.

Lela enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful flower beds. She also took care of her parents in the later years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she was confirmed.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosalie Pivonka, five sisters, Annie Hlavaty and husband Martin, Hattie Pivonka, Della Pivonka, Agnes Janacek, and Rosalie Haisler, six brothers, Alfonse Pivonka and wife Pat, Robert Pivonka Jr. and wife Lillian, Adolph Pivonka and wife Irene, Andrew Pivonka and wife Patricia, Thomas Pivonka and Richard Pivonka.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Fuller of Jacksonville, TX., nephews, Tony Piwonka and wife Alice of Somerville, TX., Jeff Piwonka and wife Tiffany of Caldwell, TX., Chris Piwonka and wife Heather of Pflugerville, TX., a niece, Annette Crider and husband Kenneth of Mason, TX., and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and church family.

Lela was a Beloved Aunt and will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.
