Larry Dean Pollock

January 24, 1942 – September 10, 2026

Our beloved dad, grandad, brother, uncle, and friend went home to the waiting arms of Jesus, surrounded by family with a smile on his face, on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Visitation will start at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and will be followed by a celebration of life at 1 p.m. at the Burleson County Cowboy Church, 300 County Road 169, Caldwell, TX 77836. To honor Dad, please wear maroon and/or white if you have it.

Larry was born on January 24, 1942 in Houston to Ella Mae and L.D. Pollock. He grew up in Cleburn and Angleton and graduated from Angleton High School in 1960. Larry attended Texas A&M University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education and his Master of Education in Educational Psychology. While attending Texas A&M,

Larry met the love of his life Brenda Kay Harvill on a blind date. They married on June 10, 1966, in Conroe and spent the rest of their days together in Bryan and College Station. After graduating, Larry worked for Texas A&M in the student affairs and housing departments and later owned his own business in the oil field industry brokering pipe.

His military service included five years in the Texas National Guard and one year in the United States Army Reserves.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, and his cousin Dorothy who was like a sister to him. 

Survivors include his daughter Jill Budd and husband Layne; and son John Pollock and wife Rhonda. Granddaughters Heather Harper and husband A.J; and Keaton Hare. Grandsons John Layne Budd; Matthew Budd and fiancée Savannah; Zachary Pollock and fiancée Vanessa; and Justin “JD” Pollock. Great-grandsons Nicholas Harper and Sean Harper. Sister Mary Clem Stewart and husband Robert B. “Bobby”. Nieces Dena Petrosky and companion Dennis Sanders; Brenda Fleshman and husband Andy; Kathryn Christensen and husband Chris; and Janna Dimitrijevic and wife Estella. Nephew Robert B. Stewart, Jr.. As well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Larry’s and Brenda’s final earthly resting place will be in the College Station Cemetery, Aggie Field of Honor overlooking the Texas A&M Campus.
