Snook, Texas

Larry Wayne Derkowski, of Snook, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend was born on August 9th, 1956, in Orange, California. He and his family moved to Bryan, Texas where he grew up.

Larry was known for his loving and kindhearted nature. He was always ready to lend a hand. He loved fishing on the Brazos River during his younger days, he took pride in taking family vacations to Casinos, Disneyland, and other adventurous places. Larry enjoyed playing softball with his friends and his brothers. He enjoyed going deer hunting with his family and friends and had a deep appreciation for classic country music. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's baseball and softball games. Larry was known to cut up and tell stories to his children, some weren’t true but were made to be very believable, like being in the Marines, special forces, and going to school with Dolly Parton in California. If you knew Larry, you knew he always had a dip of snuff in and drinking a cold miller lite. His nickname was “Snuffy” and fit him very well.

In 1980, Larry married the love of his life, Beverly. They had five wonderful children and created a beautiful life together. Larry received his master’s plumbers license and worked at Drew Woods and finished out his years at ATO chemical plant until his retirement.

Larry was proceeded in death by his father, Joe Derkowski, his brother Joey Derkowski, grandson, Weston Lammons, son in law Jerry McDowell, as well as his grandparents, uncles, and aunts.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by those who knew him. Larry is survived by his devoted wife Beverly of 45 years and his loving mother Ann Derkowski. He also leaves behind his brothers Bill Derkowski and his wife Mary, David Derkowski and his wife Mary and his sister Toni McDowell.

Larry’s memory will live on through his sons, Lew Derkowski, Tony Derkowski, Justin Derkowski, and his daughters Jennifer Lammons and husband Michael and Stephanie Derkowski and his grandchildren, Michael, Lance, Payton Lammons, Jocelyn and Joceph Rosas, and Mason Derkowski.

He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Anita Derkowski, Linda Baumann and husband Jack, son-in-law Terry Junek and wife Patt. As well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Serving as Pall bearers are Honorable Don Schulz, Honorable Jerry Nucker, Jerry Fagan, Clay Grenwelge, Donald Bienski, and Gary Schulz.

The family would like you to join them after the burial for a meal at Hope Church Fellowship Hall 5376 Raymond Stotzer Pkwy, College Station, TX 77845.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restored my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shallow of death,

I will fear no evil:

for Thou art with me;

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
