Lanelle Davis

Services for LaNelle (Neal) Davis, 91, of Caldwell are set for10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Caldwell, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Davis passed away on April 3, 2017 in Bryan, Texas.

LaNelle was born January 9, 1926 to Stephen Neal and Lillian Calvin Neal in Caldwell, Texas. She married Louis L. Davis on May 3, 1952 in Madisonville, Texas.

LaNelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Davis; son, Jeff Davis; daughter, Kim Janecka; brother, Stephen Neal; sisters, Juanita Neal and Margaret Douglass.

LaNelle was a member of the Ruth Sunday School class; she graduated from Caldwell High School in 1943, enjoyed soap operas, traveling and crossword puzzles. LaNelle led a very private life and was a life long member of First Baptist Church in Caldwell.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Jan Kyles of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret “Mickey” & Bret Rhea of Austin; grandchildren, Craig & Sonya Kyles of Bryan, Chad Kyles of Bryan, Katie Rhea of Caldwell, Colin Rhea of Virginia Beach, VA, Logan & Jennifer Davis of New Braunfels, Maegan Davis of Bryan, Joseph Janecka, Nicklaus Janecka both of Georgetown; great grandchildren, Kyler Davis and Quindalyn Paige Davis of New Braunfels, Cooper Neel of Bryan; one nephew, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Rodriguez, Rob Schleider, Herbert Baron, Jr., Phil Perry, Ronnie Smith, and Norris McManus. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, Gideons International, or the American Cancer Society.
