Justin Courtney

Justin Dewayne Courtney passed away in Caldwell, Texas on February 6, 2018 at the age of 30. Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Bro. Joe Dowling officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 also at Strickland Funeral Home.

Justin was born on January 7, 1988, the oldest son of Darial Courtney and Sally Iselt in Brenham, Texas.

Justin loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved encouraging others and telling jokes to make people laugh. He loved to fish and hunt, and was happiest when he was outdoors. Justin had a passion for woodworking and made the most beautiful crosses and other things for the people he loved, including headboards for beds. His latest project was building a big tree house for Mrs. Sharon Novosads grandsons. Justin could do anything he set his mind to do and was always the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends and will be remembered by one of his favorite sayings; “ God Bless You, I’ll Pray For You !”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Krueger, Jesse and Delphine Courtney, Samuel Weichert, Sr., Velma and Joe Lee Macik, Sr., and step-grandfather, Alfred Iselt.

Justin leaves behind to cherish his memory; mother and step-father, Sally and Darrell Iselt; father, Darial Courtney and girlfriend, Veronica Fick; brothers, Joshua Courtney and girlfriend, Megan Baba, John Courtney and fiancé, Alannah Villanueva; step-brothers, Daniel Iselt, Benjamin Iselt; step-sisters, Amy Iselt, Corine Iselt; niece, Graesyn Courtney; nephew, Rocko Baba; grandmother, Josephine Weichert; and step-grandmother, Gladys Iselt. He is also survived by Breana MacDonald, and Brooke and Brison Courtney, as he was considered and loved as a big brother.

Pallbearers are Joshua Courtney, John Courtney, Aaron Chapman, Aiman Koualti, Jr., Farid Koualti, Robert Polasek, and Chris Kleiber. Gerald Courtney, Aiman Koualti, Sr., Richard Courtney and Brison Courtney will act as honorary pallbearers.
