You could find him on the dance floor often in Deanville and Birch cutting a rug. James volunteered a lot of his time at the Sons of Hermann lodge and the Deanville hall. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing dominoes with his friends at the Birch Gun Club and going to the movies.
