Francisco Vittonel

Francisco Vittonel, 70, of Somerville passed away on February 5, 2024.  The visitation is Friday, February 9th, from 10am–8pm with rosary to be recited at 7pm at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Somerville on Saturday, February 10^th at 10am with Father Thaddeus Tabak officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Francisco Vittonel, affectionately known as Frank, was a God-fearing man who loved his family and gave all he had to make sure they were taken care of.  He was born to Jose and Ninfa Vittonel on October 4, 1953.  He attended Snook school and went on to work for Santa Fe Railroad for 45 years. Frank married the love of his life, Ermalinda, and enjoyed 47 years of love. He was devoted to his church and would maintain the grounds and help to usher at St. Ann’s.  Frank was also a 4^th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. When he wasn’t spending time with his family he could usually be found with his other love, horses.

Francisco was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ermalinda Vittonel; parents, Jose Vittonel, Sr. and Ninfa (Esparza) Vittonel; children, Francisco, Jr., Carmen Diana; grandparents, Fransisco and Virginia Vuittonet, Carlos and Juaquina Esparza; brothers and sisters, Elena (Gonzalo) Garza, Jose (Juanita) Vittonel, Jovita Vittonel, Johnny (Marilyn) Vittonel, Raul Vittonel, Carlos Vittonel and David Burrell, Sr.

Francisco leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter, Christina Strange (Chris); son, Marcus Frank Vittonel (Aubrey); grandchildren, Eric Saldana, Matthew Saldana, Cristopher Stange, Jr., Brianna Hernandez, Abigail Hernandez, Marcus Vittonel, Jr., Emily Strange, Gracie Strange, Valerie Hernandez, Noah Vittonel, Boston Vittonel; great grandchildren, Mya Saldana, Rosie Saldana, Melanie Saldana; brother, Ben Bitonel(Mary); sisters, Mary Almanza(Saturnino), and Beatrice V. Burrell.

Pallbearers are Marcus Vittonel, Sr., Marcus Vittonel, Jr., Valerie Hernandez, John Paul Sanchez, David Paul Burrell, Jr., Joseph Sanchez, Eric Saldana and Matthew Saldana.

Honorary pallbearers will be Boston Vittonel, Noah Vittonel, Ted Mathis, RJ Vittonel along with all his nephews.
