Florence Ellen Little, 87, of Caldwell passed away on November 8, 2017 in Manvel, Texas. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at New Tabor Brethren Church near Caldwell.

Florence was born June 18, 1930 to Jerry Sebesta and Ann (Surovik) Sebesta near Snook, Texas. She married Charles Omer Little on January 16, 1959 in La Marque, Texas.

Florence was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Texas City from 1959 through 1980. In later years she was member of the First Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas and attended New Tabor Brethren Church when she was in the Caldwell area.

She was a survivor of the 1947 Texas City Disaster and could relate many stories of the events of that day.

In the 1950’s she was a student at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, California. She also appeared in plays and worked backstage for productions at the Alley Theater in Houston. From 1960 to 1978 she was very active in the Texas City Little Theatre as an actress and director. Notable roles included “ Edith Lambert ” in “ Never Too Late ” and “ Mary Todd Lincoln ” in “ The Last of Mrs. Lincoln .” On occasion, she would perform for kids as “Trixie the Clown.”

In their final years, Florence devoted much of her time to caring for her husband Charles and her mother Ann. Florence was a very private person, but was very giving of herself and her time to anyone who needed her help.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; and a brother, Eugene Sebesta, Sr.

Florence is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David & Jenny Little of Santa Fe, Texas; step-daughter, Terri Ebrey of Mendocino, California; grandchildren, Felicia Little, Clarissa Little, and Christian Little of Galveston County, Texas, and Laura Ward of Reno, Nevada; great grandchildren, Isabella Little, Kyler Little, Paisley Little, Kaycee Little; numerous nieces, nephews, and assorted dramatis personae.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Tabor Brethren Church Christian Sisters.
