Felix Luna

Felix Luna, 70, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love, on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Felix was born in Calvert, Texas on June 30,1955 where he attended school and graduated in 1975. He met his wife when they were children playing on the sand dunes in Mumford, Texas. Later in their teens, they reconnected and started to date. He asked for her hand in holy matrimony and were married on December 4, 1976.

Felix was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his love of gathering, his warm smile, and his unwavering pride in cheering on his Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies.

Felix was a jack of all trades. He owned his own big rig and worked for North American Van Lines Moving Company, traveling cross country. He started working in the oilfields alongside his brothers and close relatives. Later, he worked for Texas A&M Waste Water Treatment Plant. During football season, he and his wife Janie would work the Aggie home football games as ticket takers and ushers. Felix would later go on to work for Advanced Hydrocarbon, and finally at Koppers in 2006, where he retired as a forklift driver in December 2017.

Felix was known for his jokes, love of music, dancing with the love of his life, and singing karaoke. He also had a signature farewell “Amor y Paz”, that he taught his children and grandchildren.

Felix was a long-time member of St. Teresa Church in Bryan, and St. Mary’s Church in Caldwell. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus in January 2020, and later moved in rank to a 3rd degree Knight in June 2021. Felix also became a member with the Elks Lodge in Bryan in August 2024.

Felix was preceded in death by his parents Ejinio and Felisita Luna, Brothers Jessie, Ejinio II, Julian, Gregory, Guadalupe, Joe Lewis, Luis and one sister Ramona Luna (Robles), numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and in-laws Sabino and Romana Romo.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years, San Juanita “Janie” Romo Luna; his daughters, Rebecca Luna and spouse Julian Espinoza, Tina Luna and spouse Richard Valdez, Lucy and spouse Josh Deleon, and his son, Mark Luna. In addition, Felix had six granddaughters; Claudia Luna, Liandra Espinoza, Zoey and Jordana Valdez, and Samantha and Sophia Deleon. He is also survived by his brother Ricardo Luna and sisters Margarita Reyes, Martha and spouse Bobby Varela, Anita and spouse Carlos Guitron; sister/brother in-law Maria Luna, Virginia Luna, and Felipe Robles. He came from a large family who gave him generations of nephews and nieces and he was blessed with multiple God-children. His love and spirit will live on in each of them and all who were blessed to know him.

A celebration of Felix’s life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell from 6–8 PM. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Caldwell, with a reception to follow.

Felix’s family and friends will remember him as a man of love, loyalty, and laughter. He was friendly, outgoing, and warm. He will truly be missed by all.
