Ernest Daniels

Ernest Hane Daniels, 78, of Somerville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Visitation is set for Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Strickland Funeral home in Somerville, Texas from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service is set for Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville, TX.

Bud was born December 19, 1938 in Rusk, Texas to Hilton Hane and Mary Evalyn Daniels. He had two brothers and 2 sisters, Dottie, Joe, Durwood and Linda. He is married to Kathie Daniels of Somerville and has seven children. A combined house; Bud has three; David, Tommy and Pam. Kathie has three children; Sonny, John and Bill. Together they have Katharine. Out of all those children came 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Some may have known him as the handyman of Somerville and now he is continuing his skills on the mansions in the sky. He could build anything from houses to clocks and repairing typewriters at Cyfair High School. Bud enjoyed driving big rigs. He was known as a handy man all around Somerville and Brenham. He had a servant’s heart. Bud listened to country and western and gospel music, some of his favorites included George Jones and the Booth Brothers. To know Bud was to love him and he will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilton Hane Daniels and Mary Evalyn Bonner; brother, Durwood Daniels; son, John Patrick Fleming; Mother-n-law and Father-n-law and brother-n-law.

Survivors include his wife, Kathie Lou Daniels, sons, David Wayne Daniels and wife Melissa, Thomas Daniels and wife Lisa, James A. Fleming and wife Karen, William A. Fleming and wife Kelly; daughters, Pamela Kelso, Katharine H. Milburn and husband Bret; brothers, Joe Daniels and wife Dana; sisters, Dottie Petri, Linda Willis and husband Shotgun; sister-n-laws, Loretta Davis, Belinda Harris; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are David Daniels, Tommy Daniels, Jason Daniels, Bret Milburn, Sonny Fleming and Bill Fleming.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hunter Milburn and Roger Fillinger.
