Darrell Eugene Smith, 51, of Caldwell passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends November 8, 2019, after a courageous battle with Cancer. A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Callaway Jones in Bryan, Texas.
Darrell was born April 5, 1968 to Billy Mack Smith and Karolyn (Blackwell) Smith in Bryan, Texas. He married his best friend of 31 years, Debbie Hershberger on August 20, 1988 in Bryan, Texas.
In his younger days, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and hot roddin’ cars. He enjoyed working with his hands-on small engines, building repairs and all mechanic work. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved spending time outside on his front porch watching the wildlife, hunting and fishing, and just enjoying life. He was a tremendous provider and father for his family. Darrell was American made; he loved his community, state, and country and made a point of only buying American made goods and services. Darrell served his community as a volunteer for the Beaver Creek Volunteer Fire Department. He would always look forward to the Smith Cousin get togethers. His biggest regret would be that he’s unable to walk his daughter Dacey down the aisle and to watch Leightin grow into a man.
Darrell is survived by his wife Debbie Smith of Caldwell; parents Billy Mack Smith of Caldwell and Karolyn Blackwell of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin William & Karleigh Smith of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; daughter and boyfriend, Dacey Renee Smith and Michael Wiggins of Houston; brother, Spencer Smith of Caldwell; grandson, Leightin Smith; his fur baby, Charli, and many other loved ones and family friends.
