Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Chris was born on April 10, 1955 (Easter Sunday) in Bryan, Texas to Kie and Doris (Blann) Jadlowski.

Chris graduated from Bryan High School in May of 1973. On June 5, 1976, Chris married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Gaas) Jadlowski. Together they would have two beautiful daughters, Melissa (born September 30, 1978) and Jennifer (born November 15, 1979).

Chris joined the Bryan Police Department in September 1975 at the age of 20. During his 25 years of service with the police department, he was a dispatcher, patrol officer, detective, worked in training and recruiting office, motorcycle officer, Patrol Sergeant, and retired as a Night Patrol Lieutenant in September of 2005.

In May of 1984, Chris took a leave of absence from the police department and joined the United States Army. This service would take his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was stationed at Fort Carson. He would continue his active military service until May of 1988; where he would then move back to his hometown of Bryan, Texas. Following his active military service, he continued as an Army Reservist with the 420th Engineer Brigade in Bryan, Texas. During his time as an Army Reservist, he was deployed to Iraq from 2003-2004 and then again to Afghanistan from 2008-2009. Once he returned from his tours, Chris joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW #4458) in Caldwell, Texas. He continued his service at the VFW as the Quartermaster and Canteen Manager. Throughout his military career, he received the following honors and awards: Bronze Star for his service as 1st Sergeant in Afghanistan, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 7 Army Achievement Medals, Honor Graduate BNOC 1986, NCO of the Quarter 4th Infantry Division 1986, and an Expert Infantry Badge.

After retiring from the police department, Chris began working with the Brazos County Attorney’s Office in September of 2005. He became the chief investigator and held that position until he retired in June of 2015.

Chris loved reading, raising goats with his wife, Pat, dancing, participating in the police officer’s rodeo, putting puzzles together, and spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. Chris would often take the grandkids riding in the BIG Dodge truck through the pasture, fishing at the TANK, or let them play with the goats. Sometimes after a long day outside, he and Pat would sit out at the barn and enjoy a nice, cold beer. Chris believed in and loved his savior, Lord Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kie and Doris Jadlowski; and his father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Mavis Gaas.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Pat; his 2 daughters, Melissa Bouis and husband, Ryan, and Jennifer Jones and husband, Randie; his 4 grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Olivia Bouis, Johnathan Bouis, and Landon Jones; his siblings, Helen Kuykendall and husband, Bill, Roberta Pitts and Husband, H.K., Gena Gilcrease, Barbie Davis and husband, Teddy, Mike Jadlowski and wife, Sandy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
