Bobbie Imagene Hopkins 84, of Somerville, Died March 9, 2014 at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 10 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Somerville with Rev. Corby Brizendine officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral home in Somerville. Family will be present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Bobbie Imagene Hopkins was born July 25, 1929, in Corsicana, TX to Robert and Vera Grant. Bobbie attended Emhouse High school where she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1946. Her hobbies included golf, camping, fishing, crafts, antiquing, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Vera Grant, brother, Mark Grant and daughter Jeannie Simms.

Survivors include her husband: John William Hopkins of Somerville, son and daughter-in-law, David and Pat Hopkins of Lake Jackson, brothers, Jerry Grant of Oklahoma City and Charlie Grant of San Augustine, grandchildren, Johnny Hopkins, Bryan Hopkins, and Tracey Hobbs, great-grandchildren, Meagan Hopkins and Drake Hopkins.

Serving as pallbearers were: Ted Robinson, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Landrum, Earl Dahlguist, Carl Cummins, Dennis Griffin, and Jennings Hill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
