Bertha Marie "Sissy" Silman, age 67, passed away in her home on September 22, 2021. Born in Warren, OH, she was a graduate of LaBrae High School in Leavittsburg and went on to earn her cosmetology license at Charles and Sue's School of Hair Design in Bryan, Texas. Sissy was an avid softball player, bowler and could tell you any movie line from the classics. She owned Clippers Beauty Salon and served the Somerville community for nearly 20 years. You would often find her supporting her children and the Yeguas with the loudest voice in the stands and one of her grandchildren’s biggest supporters. From cheering at sporting events to picking them up from school, she was always there!!!
She is survived by her children and their spouses, MSgt Brian Booze USAF (retired), LT Brent Booze USN and Diedre Booze, Brandy and Danny Martinez. Her grandchildren, Blake and McKenna Booze, Eboni Dugas and Bella Booze, Bailey and Hailee Ragnes, Cortney Ragnes, Brooks Ragnes, Callen Martinez and Eric Martinez . Her brother Bob Silman, his wife Brenda and their daughter Jennifer. Her niece Melissa Silman, her son Owen and daughter Reece. Her sister-in-law Barri Silman, her son Brad Silman and his wife Allison.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Silman II and Loretta Silman, and her brother Ralph “Sonny” Silman III.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, October 1st from 6pm - 8pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 10am. Both events will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. The family looks forward to hearing your best stories of Sissy.
