Alma Lucas

Alma Huber Lucas, 86, of Lyons, Texas was born June 2, 1930, in Natchez, Mississippi, and died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Lyons, Texas .

There will be a viewing at Strickland Funeral Home, Friday, March 10, 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 11, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Services are set for Saturday, March 11, 2 p.m. at Community Chapel in Lyons with Pastor Joel Lamb officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery following the service.

Alma was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved her family. She spent time cooking, gardening and dancing. She had a very feisty personality and didn’t mind letting you know that just because her body wouldn’t work didn’t mean her mouth couldn’t make up the slack. Alma also loved to go antiquing in Round Top and Carmine and was very active in Community Chapel until her health slowed her down.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Lucas, sons, Danny Sheppard and wife Rita, Bruce Huber and wife Tonya, daughters, Deborah Jo Wofford, Tammie Ramirez and husband Jody, thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy Theodore Ratcliff and Juanita Byrd Ratcliff, brother, Otis E. Ratcliff, sisters, Eula Rutherford, Marie Ratcliff, and Dorothy Ratcliff.

Pallbearers are B.J. Huber, John Oates, Travis Sheppard, Kyle Maldonado, Larry 'Lil Red' Moreno and Jody Ramirez.
