Alfred Schoenemann, 89, of Snook went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 3, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, February 6 from 9am-10am at Snook Brethren Church in Snook. Service will be 10am, Saturday, February 6, at Snook Brethren Church, with interment following at Giesenschlag Cemetery.

Alfred was born on July 18, 1926 to John and Amanda Schoenemann in Mound Prairie, Texas. He was the youngest of 3 children. He attended Snook High School and graduated in May of 1943. Alfred married the love of his life, Betty Lou Ondrasek, on July 2, 1953 in Snook. They were married for 58 years and had one daughter, Jan. He worked at Producer''s Co-op in Bryan and also farmed and ranched. Alfred attended Snook Brethren Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the Board of Elders. He also was a Charter member of the Snook Lions Club and Snook Volunteer Fire Department. He loved the outdoors where he could garden, fish, bird hunt and check his cattle with his dog. Alfred was a pillar of the community and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Amanda Schoenemann, wife, Betty Ondrasek Schoenemann and sister, Margaret Schoenemann Phillips.

He is survived by his daughter, Jan Schoenemann Wood of College Station, brother, Leroy Schoenemann of Bryan, nephews, John Schoenemann, Mark Schoenemann, David Schoenemann and Paul Schoenemann.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Schoenemann, Mark Schoenemann, Michael Junek, Gary Junek, David Kovar and Kirk Barnes.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to Snook Brethren Church Building fund.
