Kenneth Maynard Rhodes, 83, of Somerville passed away on October 6, 2018 in Brenham, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth was born September 5, 1935 to Floyd Rhodes and Berdie (Giger) Rhodes in San Perlita, Texas.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Ann Marrs; sisters, Doris Collins, Mary Belle Herrington and son-in-law, Charles Booker. He married Lavada Mannis on October 28, 1967.

When he was able, he enjoyed fishing with his brothers. He was an avid gardener and loved raising horses. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a man of few words, but his words commanded attention. He served as a minister at the Church of the First Born, in Dallas, Texas. He took his commitment to God and his family very seriously. They were paramount to his being.

He is survived by his wife Lavada(Mannis) Rhodes of Somerville; sons and spouses, Kenneth Michael Rhodes and partner George of Pasadena, California, Charles Edward Rhodes and fiancée Misty Carpenter of Bryan,Texas, James Marrs and wife Tori of Galveston, Texas, Ryan Heath Rhodes of Somerville, Texas; daughters and spouses, Barbara & Ike Chambers of Columbus, Louisiana, Tammy Booker and fiancé Doc Holloway of Caldwell, Texas, Kem & Lonnie Gauntey of Rockport, Texas, Jamie & Ricky Bishop of Avenger, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Tilly Rhodes of Raymondsville, Texas, Gene & Emma Rhodes of Dallas, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn & Al Lara of Yuma, Arizona; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
